As a graphic designer it’s not uncommon to be working on a client project that involves social media in some way. Over the past few years it has become such an integral part of our daily lives. Whole generations of people are now brought up to think that this is how we communicate – I wouldn’t be the first to suggest that the art of conversation and human interaction is going the way of the dinosaurs.
However, despite all that, as a reasonably young person (just about) I understand that as a business owner I have to evolve and I have to adapt. Over the past year or so I have actively participated in Facebook, Pinterest and Instagram and the one thing I’ve discovered? It’s a full time job!
Between working on my design projects, creating art, updating my accounts and looking after my two sons I have very little time left in the day for social media; but I’ve realised that if I want to reach a wider audience I must find the time somehow. So from now on, I am going to schedule fifteen minutes a day to create a relevant post in at least one of the three social media sites I use.
Fifteen minutes a day… How difficult can it be?
